Show me your fears
What are you afraid of? Am not aiming at phobias, I think, like spiders or heights, but real fears, that keep you up at night, that won't let you stop thinking about them. Gotta admit I don't catch the difference very well but I hope you know what i mean.
Whatever it is, abandonment, pain, death, hurt loved ones, lack of security, not being heard, attention, emotions, share.
I'm currently very worried about my freedom. Watched Zeitgeist so...you know.
I keep picturing me at the post office, waiting in line. A female teller, with a librarian look on her, yells out: number 2-2-7-4-9-4-5-D-D-0.
I just start to creep out and yell: SEE THIS? WE ARE JUST NUMBERS FOR THEM! LIKE CATTLE, HERDING US IN FOR THE SLAUGHTER! THINK 10 YEARS AGO, DID YOU FIND IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE COMPUTER CHIPS IN YOUR BODIES? WE JUST LET THEM DO ANYTHING THEY WANT TO US! yatta yatta yatta.
The clerk, without looking at me, points a nearby guard at me with her chin.
He kicks my ass with a stick.
Hope this doesn't turn into a Zeitgeist thread, but if it does, I won't complain. But fears are welcome. Don't be ashamed, we are internet people, so we are not actually real. Hit it.

Re: Show me your fears
Well, obviously, my biggest fear is for my kids. You know - them getting sick, or me getting sick and them being left without their mum.
If I lost one of my kids I would have no option but to pick up the pieces and be there for my remaining daughter, but if I lost both in, say, some freak accident I would definitely have nothing to stay here for and would take my own life. Without a doubt.
I'm on a downer now. Thanks for nothing.
Like the internet, do ya? Have you got kids?
Yeah, in your inbox. You disgust me. Al Murray, Pub Landlord

Re: Show me your fears
My biggest fear is losing my children, hands down. I also fear of dying, because I don't want to leave them without a mother. But none of those fears of mine really get to me, because I don't think about them. I don't worry either because I would rather enjoy my life than worrying.

Re: Show me your fears
Zeitgeist was fucking laughable. The whole movie was nothing more than a rediculous leftist propoganda-fest.
The fact that you even entertained anything you saw in that video, let alone stay awake at night fretting about it makes me think you aren't very bright.
Rather than accept ANYTHING in that piece of shit as a fact, I suggest you do a bit of research on your own first.

Re: Show me your fears
I'm afraid of the entire suburb of Surry Hills.
I used to go an hour and a half out of my way every week day so my girlfriend wouldn't have to walk through it to get to the train station.
It's filled with dirty hippies, criminals, aboriginals and homeless men. A very dangerous mix, if you ask me.

Re: Show me your fears
I'm afraid of oodles of things.
Flying bugs
heights, including walking up lots of stairs, glass elevators, escalators, looking out of windows in high buildings, bridges ect ect.
Deep water, while I can swim, I'm not very good at it.
The gap between the platform and the train. I think Im going to fall down in and get mangled by the train.
Spiders
Taking the garbage out at night. The Boogey Man IS real!!
The Apocalypse. I have nightmares where I wake up and there is no one but me left in the entire world. Everyone is GONE.
There's more. I will add to it when I can remember

I fear not being able to save up enough money for my son (or possible future kids) to begin their adult life without struggling.

Re: Show me your fears
I'm afarid of going crazy. I talk to my self. Started talking to myself with people around, takes me a while to notice. Had a nervous brake down at 14. Get pissed off often. Very pissed off.
I see myself as the an old man riding in a tram all day, yelling at people and trying to touch them with my warts.

Re: Show me your fears
Actually this is like the 4th time I've mentioned this between all the forums we are both members of. So much so that I am beginning to feel like I'm beating a dead horse, so forgive me if I don't plagurize myself once again on this subject. It should be easy enough to go to any of the other sites and run a search on me with "Zeitgeist" as the tagline.

Re: Show me your fears
If this is the case, then why is it you.......
.....you......
.....never talk to me?!
About the film. If I recall, it was broken up into different topics, the first being about religion and the "Sun" cult god. I thought that was damn good. Any comments on that portion alone?

Re: Show me your fears
Heh. I have kids and I still feel like I'm living wahayyyy below my potential. I'm scared that I won't get to go to school for what I want and that I won't have the career I want in enough time to reap the benefits before they're pretty much null and void to me.
I'm paranoid that I will be too much like either of my parents. My father is a psycho control freak (he flew up for a week and a half after I had the baby to "help out" but all he did was try to run my house and tell me how to parent the tot. Yuh. Right.). My mother is super manipulative and sneaky. She also has kids to satisfy her need to be loved... so when they hit around 5 or 6 and start pushing their boundaries heavily, she becomes a crazy psycho bitch.
So I'm scared that I won't find a happy medium in between the two extremes. I also want my children to have their father in their lives as long as he lives. I grew up in a split home, and it sucked. I can already see the differences in what my toddler needs from me as opposed to what he gets from his dad. I respect single parents, but I really feel that kids need both moms and dads... and I'm terrified that I'll do something stupid and compromise that for them based on my own silly emotions.
Hmm... I have a lot of fears :)
Another is I'm scared that I'll let go of who I am so that I can be a mom. It's difficult to remember that I don't have to fit the American "mom" mold to be a good mom. Yeah, I drive a minivan, but if I want to have pink hair and blast the Clash, that should be okay. I feel like I need to be all bland and sanitized simply because I have chitlins scurrying around. But that's depressing and I don't like it. So, in short, I'm afraid I'll lose sight of myself in attempts to appear a certain way to people who have absolutely no consequence in my or my children's lives.
And this one's just dumb, but I worry about it anyways - I have all these materials to make and sell diapers, but I'm worried that no one will like or buy them. (Yes, I made a whole shitload for Ialo, but the little turd was SUPPOSED to be small... so I made small diapers. They fit for a week. I already have to make a size up - and I'm starting from scratch, so I haven't started selling yet. Still trying to catch/keep up with the horse.)
More and more just keep popping up, hehe. Buuut that's good for now :DLast edited by Josie; 08-18-2008 at 07:59 PM. Reason: forgot a word
