Cigarettes into Cell phones
Cigarettes are bad for your health. If you said that today, you would get a "duh" but thirty or forty years ago, you would probably get a "Stop being paranoid. Everything gives you cancer. Chill out." Back then, most of the general public was not aware of the dangers of smoking, but that doesn't mean that everybody was not aware. There was a decent size group of average Americans who said: "wait a minute, people are starting to talk about how these things may cause cancer, maybe... I shouldn't take the risk."
Do you believe that we could be in a similar situation with cell phones?
True, conclusive research on the dangers of cell phone use is still lacking. However, the volume of evidence on the dangers is growing every day. Oncologists and cancer researchers from hundreds of the top universities in this country strongly believe that cell phones pose a major health risk.
The "story of smoking" is slowly coming to a close, but is the young generation currently living out the first chapters of the "story of the cell phone?" Are we only going to take things seriously when the prevalence of brain tumors skyrockets in the next half century?
Or is this all a hoax?

I'll give it to you though - it's difficult to separate the Mountain Dew scares from the DES babies.

Re: Cigarettes into Cell phones
Very true. At this early stage, it is impossible to say if cell phones will be the next cigarette or the next Yellow #5 found in Mountain Dew; however, more people are exposed to cell phones compared to Mountain Dew or cigarettes. WIFI technology is everywhere and almost everyone sports a phone. The extremely high prevalence of cell phone use warrants some serious attention into this issue.

Re: Cigarettes into Cell phones
If you have ever seen the british television show "braniac" they did a little experiement a year or two ago on weather or not cell phone radiation could be strong enough to eventually give you cancer. The result was that although they did get a reading, It was not enough radiation to give anyone cancer, even after a hunderd years of using the most outdated of phones. They only dangers cell phones really pose [in my opinion] is ear damage, which is resolved by turning the thing down, or holding it farther from the ear, Car crashes, which they have wireless headsets that accually work, and dumbing down the Y generation. That is probly the most dangerous.
