Quotes and what they mean to you

      Absolutel power corrupts absolutely.

I don't agree that this is 100% true. It is basicly staying if you have total control of anything thing, you will be corrupt. I believe its a simple lack of perspective. There have been quite a few leaders in this worlds dark history that had complete power in one area, and they where able to make choices based on a differnt perspective then there own. Because with absolute power its very simple to think my oppinion is the only one that matters.

      I'd like to agree with you...but I can't.

I think the sheer force of (absolute) responsibility plus the fact that anything is full of contradictions and gray areas...

would eventually lead one to either:

      a. be forced to go against their own principles in some manner
      b. sacrifice a part for the whole

is that absolute corruption? meh. probably not...

but its probably not a long-term recipe for a really swell guy, either.

The only entity that I've ever been told of presumably wielding "absolute' power is God.

And that being the case, I'd say the quote rings true. God is a right cunt of a Deity, if you ask me.

ehh looking at it from a personal perspective, then yes. But if you think he's gotta make everything everywhere work out correctly then he doesn't seem to bad of a fucker. It's just more the case that the idea of god in and of itself is completely incomprehenseable, like my spelling. We can't really understand his job so we can't really judge it.

But there are other relative examples. Look at a dog owner. They have absolute power over a dog. They may not excersize it all the time, and there may be people that make fucked up mistakes, but on the all in all they do well. I think power is based on the individual.

or 3. Adapt and change to the perceaved differences. IE: kings changes their stances on issues because of events and life expierence, and because onlike a democrocy they can without problem.

you're taking a mighty generous view of human nature, there.

      I can dig it.

not necessarily BELIEVE it (I'm nauseous and jaded)...but I can dig it.

Kill two birds with one stone.

      Means what it reads.

I usually try to do two things at the same time.
If I am cleaning house, I use a strategy that get things done at the same time.

If I have to go into town, I make sure I have more than one chore or errand to run.
