The deception of self-perception
by Blood on 02-04-2009 at 05:03 AM
Lately I find myself getting more disinterested in the world. Even my own conversations don't really last, I just seem to lose interest. Busy with other non important things. Theories that when I truly deep down think about, I all too quickly realize don't matter.
What is self perception, but what we think is normal? And how we act in a way to be perceived by others. I know I do it every day. I do and say things so people won't realize that I'm really just another borderline psycho trying to hide in normality. But where did I get all these tendencies from? Well, I would first logically guess television and movies since I am really fond of movies and hey like most kids in the 90's was raised by television to some extent. Looking further down at the dirty roots, I realize that I got it all from you. Yes, YOU. Everyone actually.
I'm an observer and because I like to observe people acting like people, I can call on something to make me "likeable". I have always been interested in watching people with others and most interestingly watching them just being alone. Seems nowadays that everyone who I encounter are fools. Unintelligent, low self esteemed, sheep who are so concerned about their own self perception and what it appears to be to other people.
Now shit, I don't care how "real" you are, we have all done things to change others perception of us. Maybe in some way to look or feel "cooler" or perhaps it's just the human need to be liked and thought of. To be "well received" so to speak. We are all putting on a show and that show makes us the all singing, all dancing, all working, all following slaves to society. And if you need evidence of my spin on the Tyler Durden quote then go to any place with adults and just sit and simply watch them. Keep in mind I said adults. Children aren't ruined yet. But sit long enough and
Giant Leopard Moth
by Blood on 08-30-2008 at 03:56 AM
I love the Internet.
I was outside walking my dogs, when i found a caterpillar, i think it was a bagworm caterpillar but I wasn't sure so i looked it up online.
I found out that it was indeed a bagworm, but on that site i found something even cooler...MY moth.
Ok, back track a few years when i was a wee lass and use to adore bug hunting. I loved finding different bugs so that i could look them up at the library and see what they do and how they survive and stuff.
Well my favorite thing to catch was caterpillars, and living in the 'country' there was always a endless supply. But my absolute favorite was this adorable little black and red fuzzy caterpillar.
Now, i was always told that some caterpillars had stingers so i should be careful of the ones i picked up, so when i saw that little black fuzzy guy i thought that maybe the 'fuzz' part was stingers so i didn't touch it i just observed it for a while.
The little guy was on a tree eating away when he started slipping, i don't know why but as it fell i put my hands up so it would fall in my hand. I think perhaps it was because if it fell in my hand i wouldn't actually be disobeying my mom's "don't pick up anything that looks like it has stingers" rule.
But anyway, i kept really still so if it was full of stingers than it wouldn't start attacking me.
But then i noticed that the little spines on his body cushioned his fall, and they were more like really coarse hair than anything. And from that day forward i was in lovers.
It's weird because they don't really even have a face to be cute, hell, half of the time i didn't know if i was talking to the head or the ass of the poor thing, but dammit he still pulled it off.

Dream Interpretation: Informative or utter crap?
by Blood on 08-23-2008 at 02:10 AM
I had a crazy ass dream the other day and in it, i had this pet cockatiel. Everything was going fine till i got super sleepy and fell asleep holding it. When i woke up my stomach felt sticky and warm and i looked down to see that the damn bird gave birth on me.
I wasn't grossed out by it though, i just tried not to squish any of the eggs and get up so i could clean myself off.
But then my dream fast forwarded to the eggs hatching, all of them died but one and that fucker was an obese penguin. I can remember thinking "That little slut!" when i realized that the cockatiel was male and probably shouldn't be giving birth to anything anyway. =/
I don't know why but that dream creeped me the fuck out and i am not easily creeped so i talked to a friend about it and he said i should look into dream interpretation.
This is what i got from it:
To dream of dead or dying birds, foretells a period of coming disappointments. You will find yourself worrying over problems that are constantly on your mind.To see bird eggs in your dream, symbolizes money. To see birds hatching in your dream, symbolizes delayed success. To see a penguin in your dream, signifies that your problems are not as serious as you may think. It serves as a reminder for you to keep you cool and remain level-headed. Alternatively, a penguin seen in your dream suggests that you are being weighed down by your emotions or by a negative situation. You need to find some balance and inner harmony.
^^See, all of that seems to coincide with my current problems IE, my dude going on strike for god knows how long and us being able to make ends meet with out his income.
I have big time security issues and to me not being able to pay all of my bills on time is HUGE for me so
Recipes: Spinach feta stuffed chicken
Growing up my mom never cooked, she simply didn't know how, so my sister and I had to do all of the cooking.
I was just going across some of the old comfort food recipes that i use to make and that i thought i invented, stuffed spinach feta chicken was one of them and so i thought id share. =)
- 4 boneless chicken breast fillets, skin on
- 85g frozen leaf spinach , defrosted
- 85g feta cheese , crumbled ( I use a little more than that but most people can't stand that much feta.)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp
How to: How to color fire
Duuuude i tried this out the other day and though it was pretty entertaining. I didn't write this how to tutorial but i still thought it was worth sharing.
How to color fire
Do you know the colorful pages of newspaper and magazines can give colored flame on burning? What is the reason behind the color paper burning with color? Colored papers are colored due to presence of color pigments in them. These color pigments consists of inorganic elements for example iron, chromiumor manganese. When you fire a colored paper, valence electrons (electrons found in the outer most shell) of the elements are excited as the result of it, they jump up to the next higher energy level.
As these excited electrons fall back from higher energy level to the lower energy level, they emit photons of light. These photons will have different colors depending on the energy they have due to their discrete energy levels.
Each element has its own sets of steps; therefore each will have its own color or sets of colors.
Here is the table, which shows some metals with their flame color.
Have you noticed that in the table we have listed only metals? Actually it is easier to get colors from metal because of presence of free electrons. Metals have loosely bound electrons. Which are also responsible for passage of electricity and also the thermal conductivity.
Few non-metals like sulfur, chlorine also produce color. Neon is an inert gas .It also give color. The brilliant emission from low-pressure neon gas when it is excited by an electric discharge has made it very popular for illuminated signs. The term "neon sign" is commonly used for all such luminous gas signs, but the neon produces only the bright orange characteristic color.
