It's a miracle that it even exists.

From plants dying off in the winter only to come back anew in the Spring to that first beautiful cry a new born makes at it's debut in this world, it never ceases to amaze me.

Just stopping and taking a minute out of my busy day produces new fascinations. Every so often I make a point to sit on my swing, look out over the lake while smoking a joint and just take in everything around me....and reflect.

The birds busying themselves with their daily tasks, the fish in the water seemingly gliding in air on those days when the water is it's clearest and my dogs lying at my feet, dozing lazily, waiting for the next chance to bounce and play and bring a smile to my face. Everything around me has it's purpose and function.


But, what really fascinates me about life is it's never ending surprises. When one opportunity seems to be on the verge of fading away another comes along to either create a new path for it or take it's place. The choice is mine and that choice will decide my next set to make.

It's a never ending roller coaster, this thing called life. It has it highs and lows, twists and turns and full speed straight aways that blow your hair back with fun and memories.

I'm fascinated by the seemingly random way I've met people. How those relationships have turned out, good or bad, and how wrong I have been in my initial assessment of them.

The way people who you'd least expect become major figures in your life astounds me. How time before this person flowed without a pause but thinking of life with this person not in it stops you in your tracks.

How friends that were, at one time, your first thought when you woke, have slipped years into your past before you realize it and a pang hits you at that realization.
