View Full Version : A Fucked Cult

Christianity is a cult because it is:

an exclusive belief system that idolizes a set of mystical writings,
depends on human leaders and experts to decipher the writings,
encourages groups to meet together and learn from a leader,
encourages people to give money to the leader,
instils indoctrination ideas to make people feel guilty for experiencing human behaviours
commits logicide in order to re-define common words like love, life death, saved etc
All of these thing are detrimental to human experience and living a fulfilled life.
“A really fucked up cult with fucked up rules”
The rules and regulations of the mystical writings, as interpreted by the enlightened leaders and experts, causes psychological and emotional damage to the believer. Rules based on human sexuality, courtship, food and social integration cause believers to reject their natural instincts and force themselves to behave in unnatural ways. One example is the rule about no sex before marriage. This rule causes young adults to increase their stress levels at a time in their life when the physiological changes to their bodies are creating high anxiety and new sexual urges. The church’s doctrinal regulation forces the young adult to refrain from acting on these urges, and instead causes discord and confusion that only leads to failure to live up to the regulation, and further increases feelings of guilt and self-loathing.
“and fucked leaders”The leaders of the churches, organizations and religions are humans who have been deceived by the mystical writings, AND have been given positions of power and authority over other deceived people. History and human nature tells us that this is a recipe for disaster. Power = Corruption no matter how you slice it. I will let the 6 o’clock news argue my point on this one.
“and fucked traditions”Christianity is steeped in ancient pagan traditions that have been re-written by the “authorities” to better promote the ‘new’ religion to the masses. Virgin births, symbolic bread and wine, singing songs to deities, trinity gods, sun worship and astrology are among the most ancient traditions that have been hijacked by christianity in order to amalgamate all religions into one orthodoxy.
“and fucked holidays”
By far, one of the saddest aspects of the cult of christianity is the glorification of torture and death as portrayed in the mythical story of Jesus. He was brutally beaten and then nailed to a wooden crossbeam, where he was forced to undergo great public humiliation while his lungs slowly suffocated under the weight of his own body. This gruesome tale is told to children, and little gold crosses (symbols of Roman Execution) are hung around their tiny necks. This holiday (called Easter - itself of Pagan origins, just look it up) is simply the ultimate expression of the xian worship of death. Believers are only fully sanctified by their mythical god in the act of dying. It is a sad comment on human nature, and I am ashamed to have taken part in it.
“and fucked people”
Once again, history is flooded with christians who have done terrible and heinous acts in the name of Christ. Wars, inquisitions, crusades are all kin to christianian history that cannot be denied. The first acts of the new official Roman Religion (christianity) was to convert by force or exile all Roman citizens who refused to comply. In more modern times, christians have created entire museums dedicated to faulty science in order to teach children that the earth is less than 10000 years ole, that humans and dinosaurs walked together, that an invisible ghost created everything from nothing in 6 days. I think the term ’fucked up’ is quite an understatement, and I should have used stronger terminology.
“and a super fucking fuckity fucked BOOK!”
Here we have the crux of the matter. A collection of ancient writings written by men between 2000 and 3000 years ago. For the most part the writings are anonymous, and at best, we cannot verify the existence of the authors of the signed books. The tales told of talking snakes, floating axeheads, radioactive boxes, great plagues, super human strength, miraculous healing, walking on water, flying, teleportation, killing innocent children, human sacrifice, possession, ghosts, demons, and eternal hellfire for all non-believers put the Greeks to shame! One man’s Mythology is another man’s Orthodoxy. To believe these things as literally true is to insult the beautiful complexity of the human brain.

Matthew was reminiscing. At the age of 53 he had achieved a great deal, and hoped his long-lost friends were leading happy, fulfilled lives too. Then he had a great idea - a reunion! He managed to track down his childhood pals, and they met for a lengthy and heartfelt catch-up. They remembered having sleep-overs at each others houses, and, particulary, the incredible tales told by Matthews dad. Each of them wrote their version of how the stories went, and, not surprisingly after all this time, they differed slightly. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John decided to cease their bickering and throw the stories away.

Well, it's not like anyone would ever take them seriously, is it?

Worship me or you'll burn forever.

Yep, sounds like a cult to me.
