Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year... by far. This is the only holiday during the year that is specifically designed to just get together and be merry. No gift exchanges, no fireworks, just getting together with the people I love. While most people dread this day as one where you have to deal with your ass-hat family, I look forward to gathering with the people I care about. True, this connotation has been lost through time, even to the people I celebrate it with, it still holds dear to me.
So, if the people you care about consist of family and friends or just dear ol' Rusty, enjoy today and be merry.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year... by far.

Same here.
My favorite food is turkey, my favorite sport is football, and my favorite person is my lovely lady...today I get all three!

There are family getogethers on my side and her's..We avoid both....

Got everything we need and a roll in the hay right here.
Ha!!
Who could ask for more?

I have much to be thankful for this year.
Even from bad things can come precious memories....I'm just finding that to be true this year.

Llamageddon:

Thanks for the well wishes.
We are having a great one.

If you ever get across the pond..you have an open invitation to stop by and enjoy a Thanksgiving feast with us...Even if it's still mid July....

Last time I had some turkey was 15 years ago. Isn't supposed to taste like chicken or something?

The only thing I know for sure about the taste of chicken, is that it tastes like chicken.

Hell..I'll extend that open invitation to any of you foreigners who want a taste of a great American tradition.

But now that special day of friends and turkey has past..and it's time for me to go back to being the arrogant asshole that I am.

Hey! I've got enough leftovers to feed all of you guys until next Thanksgiving. It's sure going to cut my food budget way down. Hope all of you had a great day like I did.

It was pretty good all around. Food, football, family. Good enough for me.

I hear you there. We didn't stop with just a turkey this year, I decided to do prime rib as well and ended up with a ton of leftovers. We don't do traditional Thanksgiving because I was a foster kid, so we have all the black sheep or people not welcome anywhere else at our house. Always a good time. Where else can you trash talk on your ex, eat good food and drink like a fish for free?

Sounds like a great Thanksgiving tradition to me.
