Two versions of globalization has been taking place: one by the West, version 1.0 and the other by the East, version 2.0. The "New World Order" by Bush, "moment of miracle" by Clinton and "ending tyranny in the world" by Bush Jr. and "single standard for all who hold power" from Obama are all convinced that the old Western 1.0 version is the universal outcome of a liberal democratic open market with same rules for everyone will rule the world. This is backed by the WTO, IMF, Wall Street, Fed Reserve and all the American wars now going on.

This universal vision has mortgaged our children's future, expended the lives of young soldiers, moved industries to other nations thereby hollowing out their own, emptying treasuries all at the expense of their own people.
We should all become Starbuck coffee drinkers with non-fat milk.

The Yanks are the leading nation sponsoring Globalization 1.0, reaping the lions share of benefits with Wall Street and Hollywood, having a decisive influence on the political system that is given to them with bailouts and fucking up policy. Europe is no different.
Ireland is gone. Spain is on the way out. Portugal is on it's way out. Greece may recover if it defaults it's loans like Iceland did, leaving the creditors to pick up the tab as they rightly should.

Now, the other version, Globalization 2.0, makes no world proclamations, no Asian nation, except for Japan, that has mistakenly followed too closely to the Western modal, has sunk, has gone bankrupt, has cried to the IMF "Oh my, please bail me out!"
Matter of fact, while version 1.0 has put people into poverty, version 2.0 has risen hundreds of millions out of poverty. The importance in Asia has been it's culture and it's people. Culture is seen as something being unique and individual, therefore, there is no way of uni versifying such a thing. Version 2.0 is based on plurality.

China is a member of WTO. China is a member of IMF. China has hundreds of billions invested in US corporations on Wall Street. China also has hundreds of billions invested in US treasury bonds issued through the Federal Reserve.

I don't think the East's economic policies are as different as you think.

Oh I'm sorry... make that 1.16 trillion in treasury bonds.

I've said this before, too. China and India are RISING nations. That means they were coming from damn near the bottom of the pile. When countries begin to industrialize, they experience mass about of growth, in % change. China/India are on the brink of being where America is... it will just take a few more years for them to start trying to do the same damn thing we did.

You are assuming that America is the one-in-all-has-all-the-answers-is-the-only-way (I know you did not say that) system and all countries implement and copy it as their own. This is what is meant by Version 1.0 mentality. It fails to understand that there are other methods and also that while Asia sits back quietly and grows, it's watching things very closely and learning, including those things that are going wrong in the Version 1.0 nations.

You're correct, but it is also a member on the U.N. and you would need both hands and feet to see how many times it has NOT agreed with resolutions promoted yelled and threatened by America and her allies.

make that 1.16 trillion in treasury bonds.

Seems to me that China's got Uncle Sam by his balls and is squeezing hard.

You're missing the point though. You were citing all of those things as being part of the West's failing "globalization 1.0", however China participates in all of those (minus the wars... at least in the last couple of decades) so how is their version of globalization any different?

The whole point is really moot though because we have to be at least up to like version 12.0 or something by now considering all the empires who have risen and fallen throughout the millennia. It's a constantly evolving thing.

Agreed.
