Drilling now will take 10 years to impact fuel prices. But I still signed in the interest of idealism and trying to change something.

Oh yea, and that dumb broad in the pink top on the boxes almost made me not sign it. Annoying whore sounds like she doesn't even know what the hell she is talking about, just spewing some words she memorized.

Waiting until tomorrow to start drilling means ten years and one day till we have our OWN resources.

The time argument is weak if its all one bases their opposition to drilling on.

uhm...
Aren't gas prices increasing all over the world? I fail to see how the American congress can be blamed for this. Norway is the third largest export of oil in the world, yet we have seen a substantial increase in the gas prices in the last years.
This last weekend I drove to Oslo and back to Bergen to visit my sisters, that trip is a combined 1100 kilometers (621 miles). On that trip I had to fill up the tank twice, 16 gallons on each turn. In total, which was for 32 gallons of gas, I paid 300 dollars.

Now, compare my $9,37 to your $3.81.

And Norway doesn't have the most expensive gas in the world, Sierra Leone has a gas price at a insane $18,4 a gallon

Someone must've fucked up, but I wouldn't blame the congress.

1. We have resources.

2. Congress has banned use of the resources.

3. Congress has banned or has legislated huge, fake obstacles in order to prevent building of Nuclear facilities and or additional refineries.

Congress is the motherfucker responsible.

As a side note I don't give one rat's cock about piss ant Norway and it's issues.

And the only time I think of Siera Leone is when I pass by my county's landfill.

My reasoning came from the assumption/concern that half the people that signed this are too simple to realize it will take time if things went in motion today. I just hope they realize their gas will be $10/gallon by the time we can stop importing so much(although I don't think we'll ever completely stop importing).

Just invest in energy and put money back in the tank!

Then your Congress seem corrupt and you guys have bigger issues than gas prices.

Well, being that:

Waiting until tomorrow to start drilling means ten years and one day till we have our OWN resources.
and

Norway is the third largest export of oil in the world

you probably should give a rats cock.
10 years is a long time, homes, and as long as we(norwegians) are fucked on this issue, then so are you.

Just sayin'.

Don't let Mr. "I've been in the Military so you should shut up" keep you from saying with determination and conviction.

He fails to see how countries are connected on issues like: limited resources,
increased prices in food, fall or rise of the U.S. greenback, the dictates of the Federal Reserve, U.N. Charters, World Bank, IMF nor the drawings by Kurt Westergaard.

Mr. Prick is on of those people who was constantly bombarded by US "kill kill kill"!
and "hate hate hate"! propaganda within the barracks life. Still is.

Wrong.

I am keenly aware of the need to maintain relations with other countries.

Even piss ant countries like Kongeriket Norge.

The purpose of this was basicly to drain the other countries dry, so that when it comes time for ....well this to happen, when natural resources start to fade out, then of course we become the only source after a while, or atleast a big source. In alaska alone we have more oil then iraq does. (note i'm pretty sure that includes underwater drilling sites) None the less we have plenty, like prick said. The question is do we want to play our ace card yet? The long we hold out, the more power we will have in the long run. But atm it's at the cost of the american people, and ultimately if we wait to long our economy may be irrerseably damaged.

I don't watch videos online (takes too long to load). I'm assuming this has to do with Alaska's oil?

I started to bullet point why I think this is fucking retarded, then I got too irritated and just decided I'll say "Fuck you" and move on.

Do what you want, but you're fucking retarded.

Signed the petition.....but it won't matter.
Congress will not change the status quo.
If we were to start pumping our own oil into this country (instead of selling it to others) it would violate the agreement we have with the countries we import from.
Violating that agreement would let them out of having to sell oil in American dollars.
Think our economy is bad now? Let that happen.
The main reason we're so hot and heavy on Iran right now is their threat to flood the market with oil AND sell it in Euro's.
Besides, even if we DID pump our own oil into this country, it would just sell at the current market value.
Where would the savings come from?
I realize it would drop a little because our consumption would no longer figure into the over all demand placed on the over seas providers but I doubt that would make much of a difference to the Big Oil companies. They've always had a reason to raise prices.
Anyone remember when they raised gas prices a couple of years ago by 50 cents a gallon because the hurricane that was blowing may hit some platforms? It never even came close and it took 2 months for the prices to come down 20 cents...never got back to the original price.
Another thing, it's not so much the oil prices that keep gas prices artificially inflated. It's the bottle neck at the refineries. Even though Congress gives them tax cuts and billions of dollars, Big Oil can't seem to be bothered to build a couple of refineries to ease the time it takes to make the gas. No wonder....that would cause a DROP in the price.

I signed the petition.

What's happening now is the same shit the oil companies pulled in the 1970's. There is no shortage of oil. If we opened the reserves now and began drilling now, we could easily replenish the reserves within the ten years needed to be completely independent of foreign oil.

I keep hearing how nuclear power is so dangerous. Do tell. Chernobyl was a Russian fuck up and blew up due to poor design and poorer safety. Three mile island in the US? Yep. Meltdown. One accident in one plant. How many refineries have blown up? How many coal mines collapsed? Enough with the bullshit. We are going to all die of something, might as well have air conditioning and cable tv while we wait.

Let's wag the dog a bit. Iraq is all about oil right? Why don't we invade Mexico then? Mexico has oil reserves greater than ANY of the arab states. Since all of the little border jumpers want to come here anyway, why not just make Mexico the 51st state and be done with it?

Just my 2 cents. Carry on.
