Batman (mass 80.0 kg) stands on a window ledge 5.0 m above the floor (Fig. 8-40). Grabbing a rope attached to a chandelier, he swings down to grapple with the Joker (mass 70.0 kg), who is standing directly under the chandelier.

(Assume that Batmam's center of mass moves down 5.0 m. He releases the rope just as he reaches the joker.)

a) With what speed do the entwined foes start to slide across the floor?

b) If the coefficient of kinetic friction of their bodies with the floor is μ = 0.250, how far do they slide?

Doeeeeeeeeeeeet ~~~ !! ( no cheating you dumb bastards... <label for="rb_iconid_28">http://swollencranium.com/forums/images/icons/funny.gif</label>)<label for="rb_iconid_28"></label>

I've seen the math you can do ... its scary !!

You can do this in your head !

Psssh. This involves too many equations.

I really really hate maths. Perhaps more than washing up.

Anyway, what good does it do, unless you're a physicist or nuclear fissionist?

That's why we have calculators.

Perhaps more than washing up.

Eh? What.... like.... showering?

Eh? What.... like.... showering?

Uh..... no. I veryyyyyy enjoy showering. Especially when the jet ...

I mean washing dishes. Washing up = washing dishes. (British speak)

Or in Spanish it's "fregar los platos"

Comprende? :)

What's the resistance in the air like? Eg humidity, wind velocity & direction in relation to Batman's path, etc.

^^^

That's a good questions actually.
Let's pretend he's in Sheng Hai with the mass of pollution they have.

So, I'd say there are some golf ball sized air particles floating around to impend Batman's trajectory.

Its a physics CLASSROOM type question <--- given that information should tell you to stop inferring external factors into the equation.

Si. I'm sorry if that was insulting - I was really wondering =/ Thanks for the 'splanation :)

CLASSROOM question

What's the circumference of the Physics teacher's tits?

And at what speed and how high do they bounce if the coefficient of kinetic friction of her boobs with her bra is μ = 0.250?

The chandelier Batman is swinging from doesn't look strong enough. This will never work.

Test sucky.
Teacher sucky.

I've done the math. Batman is about to end up ball-deep inside The Joker's mouth. Just sayin'.
