I explained to you that I no longer have a computer with the proper GPU and CPU to handle the massive frame rate game play and simultaneous calculations that ARMA2 requires. I tried running it on a very capable business machine but at a grand total of 12 frames per second it was a NO GO.

I ran in on Absinth's gaming computer and it played just fine BUT I did not like the game, was not my flavor of game play.

Fine assessment of the military retirement plan and would most likely be right on the mark if I had not made plans to supplement my personal income.

True, I've not used anything larger than .45 since 2008. But if you ever need me to walk you through the steps on how to set head space and timing on that M2 I'm quite capable of doing that still, seeing as that I've had use of them for well on 20 years.

As far as 're-learning' goes I'm gonna have to say that one should NEVER considered themselves fully and permanently qualified. Using a firearm to defend the homestead is a lot more than resting an M4 on a sand bag and shooting 40 rounds at a few "Ivans". If you haven't practiced running and gunning, shooting off handed, shooting in low to no light, shooting from and into a vehicle, shooting from and into various shaped rooms ... ( the list goes on .. and on ), IF you've done none of that or do not refresh those skills often then you might as well call yourself a sport shooter rather than a gunfighter.




But I am no longer in the Army, and my entire service history means fuck all to folks in the civilian world. Being retired @ 39 (now 43) does have serious drawbacks, mainly being that I'm too old to integrate easily into a new groups and too young to hang around folks my own age. Civilian 40 year old folks seem WAY older to me than my peer group in the military was, way too conservative in their actions and have life experiences that simply seem foreign to me. Seems like MOST all 40 year old folks I see are fat, lazy, fat, weak, fat and have a bevy of brats.

Because of that ..I'll NEVER fit in.
