So been toying around with the idea now for a while, a commemorative tattoo i guess of the things that have impacted hugely in my life. Saw my friendly tattoo artist on Saturday, so waiting for his first design.

Not sure what the attraction is to getting ink. My girl has a couple of tats and I'm getting my first in December. Never wanted one before watching her get hers, now I want one.

You should be warned they are addictive. For me the attraction was a couple of things: 1- it was forbidden, 2- self expression and 3-identification. I am extremely picky at what I have put on my body, each of them have special meaning and have been designed for me. My body is marked by the things that have marked my life, my soul, my heart.

No warning needed on the addiction. My girl just had her third. Thankfully the same artist did them all and he requires that 3-6 months pass between the first two and a year for the third. All of her tats represent something. Her son's name is on her ribs, faith on her wrist, etc. I'll see if I can dig up a tat pic that doesn't show enough boob to get me in trouble with her.

If I were to EVER do such a stupid thing like tats, I'd do this one or the other one:

I think it mandatory for anybody getting an ass of a thing poisoned into their body, should first pass this test and have it inked on their foreheads:

I have several commemorative tattoos.
For my gf and cousin who both died of suicide within days of each other.

Same reason, only I've added text underneath that reads "I'd like to fly, but my wings have been so denied"

I don't have any.
Maybe one day. At the moment, nothing is really appealing to me, plus I've seen some awful tattoos. I shudder to think of being stuck with something permanent on my body that looks like utter shit.
This girl I knew once had a big fairy ontop of a snow globe over her left shoulder blade. wtf? Plus the "art" looked like something a pre-schooler had done. All large, thick lines and not dainty or anything.
Ugh.

I finally decided on mine. Which I think I posted another thread about somewhere else.
'Never said I was sorry.' on my ribcage.

BURN!!!
I have a butterfly on my ankle. The butterfly means something to me. I wanted to have my childrens names tattooed on me, but I changed my mind and I am going to have a small symbol that represents them instead. I just have to figure out what.

When I was in the Army I wanted a tatoo but chickened out. Then I met the love of my life and decided to go ahead. got a beautiful rose on upper breast. looks great. My mom says I'm a biker bitch now and not in a nice way. Oh well, too bad for her. i love it. and i show it off whenever I can. And my old man loves it too.
