Last November. She's still enthusiastically showing her appreciation for the 1.75ct token of my affection.

Zinc Zirconium is the way to go. Looks real as fuck, and doesn't break the bank. Diamonds are only useful on things like tools that need a hardened edge, etc.

This thread makes me very sad. When my husband bought my absolutely gorgeous engagement ring and wedding band, I was 8 months pregnant with our first child... so I was quite a bit bigger.

After I lost the weight, the ring was so large (even on my index finger) that it would just fall off, so I stopped wearing it because I didn't want to lose it. This really upset him but he didn't want to get it resized until after I'd had this baby...

So, to make him happy I started wearing it again, telling myself to constantly check to make sure it was still there... that did not work. I lost it.

Don't feel bad Josie. It was obviously his fault.

He guilted you into wearing it, against your better judgment, I might add.

I've never had diamonds. No one loves me enough. *sniff*

Same thing happened to me, sorta.. when I got my rings, I wasnt pregnant. Then when I got pregnant, my fingers got swollen and I took them off and put them in a jewelry box. Well, I know I put the band in the box, yet its gone. It was beautiful and diamonds al around it. I was so upset. I still ave the engagement ring, but my band meant more. :yociexpress09:

Okay... what would be so hard about putting the ring(s) on a chain around your neck when pregnant (or until properly sized)?

Are you going to buy me a matching chain so that it doesn't look like a ghetto LOTR rip off?

I really think that the whole ring thing should be thrown out the window. The only reason I say that is because I was forced to wear a big ol' gold 70's looking man ring my entire relationship with my ex. She got to wear this nice little thing, not in the way. I get stunk with man ring being a dick. Men should not have to wear rings! Give us a dot, or something....I fucking hate rings...

Apparently your condescension failed to take into account that it isn't "hard", rather is not preferred by a spouse.

I understand the fact that it just dose not feel right seeing that thousand doller rock around her neck insted of where it should be, but shouldnt the fact that the girl takes it, and realizes what that usless peice of metal symbolizes, isn't that the point of buying women jewlery, or am I just too old school?

What spouse? The one that can't wear the ring on a finger that's swollen (or not swollen temporarily... take your pick), or the one that gave the ring?

I realize that rings belong on fingers... but if you don't want to resize it a few times, but still want to have it with you (without losing it), the chain idea works.

Anyway, I didn't mean to be condescending... I was slightly pissed off about another matter at the time.

You and school shouldn't even be in the same paragraph.

I was all for the ring on the chain thing. People would still ask what the ring was doing on my necklace, and I'd say "I'm married" - accomplishes the same thing. My husband took issue with that... and either he didn't tell me why or I've forgotten what it was.

Also, I was never too swollen to wear it, just too small. It was a 6.5, and really needed to be a 5.5

Where were you before I lost it?!? Hehe, maybe hearing from another guy would have changed something? Meh, it's gone.
