The governor of WI made one of his first actions in office the turning down of $810 million in federal transportation funding.
He quickly followed this up by giving big tax breaks to his campaign donors. Then, of course, he claimed we had a budget crisis that needed to be addressed immediately.
He used this as an excuse to try his hand at union breaking. Leaving teachers, nurses, and other service providers with no collective bargaining power.
Then tops it all off by using the state's tax dollars to hire his friends and big campaign donors to do the same jobs we could have done with that federal money he turned down.
With teachers and health care providers soon to be fleeing the state for greener pastures we seem to be on the verge of looking like a third world country.
There have been huge (peaceful) protests at the capital building and thoughout the state. But protests do little good when they fall upon the ears of corrupt government officials who really don't care what the people have to say and continue to believe their own lies (or at least pretend to believe them).
At times it's hard to see the difference between corruption and stupidity. Especially when the two are so intertwined with each other.
Here's a joke for you.
This clown claims to aspire to being the next Ronald Reagan.
Good luck with that Scott.
I wonder how the other individual states are getting on these days.
Any comments on your state governor, government, or opinions on mine are very welcome.
