An Austrian woman was held captive by her FATHER for 24 years, in her own basement, has had 7 children to him.

Apparently he drugged and handcuffed her when she was 19, and told her mother, his wife, that she ran away and joined a cult. She was finally set free when one of her daughters had to be hospitalized.

The father also raised 3 of his incestuous offspring in the family home upstairs by 'leaving' them as babies on the doorstep with notes from the daughter claiming she couldn't take care of them.

My question is- How can the mother NOT know a family, in particular her OWN daughter, were living in her basement for almost a quarter of a century?

There is much much more to the story.
The Father was sexually abusing the daughter for 7 years before he locked her away.
He sent a note to investigators supposedly from his daughter to call off the missing person search, which they did.
He legally adopted 3 of the offspring after "finding" them on his doorstep, with a note from his "runaway" daughter saying she couldn't support them.

Initial reports suggest she didn't know, he covered all his tracks...including having electronic locks on the cellar rooms which the Police were unable to open without his cooperation.

This is an extreme case captivity and incest (prior to this was a case of a girl being held for 8 years ,although not incest, also in Austria)

Questions emerged about whether her mother knew about it and people say how could she not? In fact, in the majority of cases of incest the wife/mother seldom knows as the perpetrator covers his tracks by threats to the victim. ln this latest case the father had the added security of a secret basement.

This sick individual will be given more respect and rights than he ever gave his daughter.

l would surgically make him into a paraplegic (don't want him commiting suicide) and eunuch and then push him out into the centre of the city everyday, rain or shine, to be tormented and insulted by everyone for the rest of his life.

And continues to do so. lt is now reported that a second man has visited the basement and was introduced to others as a plumber.

The father also went away for long holidays leaving them in the basement.

Police are checking to verify the fathers claim that the door would automatically open if left for a certain long period (if the father died) and more sinister still, that the father supposedly told his captives they would be gassed if he died. This, from a country that is still trying to come to terms over the Nazi Death Camps!

You should be a judge. The world would have fewer villains if more extreme punishments were dished out in the 'civilised' world.




And my take on this whole shocking story? Well, I'm gobsmacked.

I really don't understand how the mans wife could have gone for 24 years without having a clue! He (allegedly) told his 'upstairs' family that he was working on blueprints for machinery in the basement, and they were to never even attempt to venture down there, no matter how long he was gone.

Now, call me a cynic, but I'd have been fucking determined to get to the bottom of things after a few MONTHS, let alone fucking years. If somebody ever acts even slightly secretive around me I immediately become suspicious.

If she really was truly oblivious, then the mans wife must be thick as shit.
