Yesterday I took my dog to the beach, and figgered I'd share, since it's still winter for some of you.
Winter obviously has a different meaning here. It's only gets to the mid 70's, and the water is too cold to swin, and you need a wetsuit to swim.
We do have snow, but our snow is perfect snow. It's 50 miles or so away, and it looks pretty on top of the mountains.

If you want, you can go skiing or whatever, and then when you're sick of it, you leave. "Pefect"
Since it's january, the beach is pretty empty, this is north, towards the pier

Looking down, it's pretty sparse, plus it's high tide

Unfortunately, it was busy enough to fill the good parking lot, so I had to climb down the hill.

It's not bad, because the trail dips most of the way down.
As far as the cliff, you always see some of the dumbest shit. It's cleary marked, and has a steel rail around it

But there is always some dipshit/daredevil that either can't read, or has no common sense.

Hard to see, because she's so high up, and far, but yes, some dumb bitch was up there standing on the edge, and as people were yelling at her to get her stupid ass away from the cliff, she was moving closer to hear them. What they never seem to worry about is knocking rocks down on the people under the cliff.
So anyways, I was noticing, my wife's dog likes to get in the truck to go for a ride. My dog likes to get in the truck since there is a chance he can go to the beach.
He usually runs straight out to say hello

Sometimes he sees a real dog out in the breakers, or just decides to swim to catalina, and just goes for it

He also has an odd quirk, because he obviously loves playing in it

But knows it well enough to see sudden holes, or where the dropoff is during high tide, and isn't having it, I threw a rock it, and he started to go after it, and then noticed the surface is flat, so it's deep.

They have "huntington dog beach" on the bing bird's eye view. That image was low tide, and you can see it when it's dry.
so yes, it is a pretty cool dog park. Definitely made for dogs

Yet people still occasionally come without dogs, and get all bent out of shape when a dog runs up and pees on their stuff.
some dogs like to run & chase rabbits. Since we don't have very many wild animals, he chases the local fauna instead

It's a great place to let your dog run wild.
And the result, a happy dawg

And if you want, there is a webcam at the Pier

And sorry about the quality, it wasn't planned, so all I had was my phone.
