It was an especially difficult time. I retired at the same time my unit was deploying, so I was on the fence with my decision the entire time.

Indeed.

Still, sending my "family" off to combat while I transitioned out was a very
bitter sweet deal.

A time where I should be happy about my last day was instead one of anger and disgust with myself and the military.

Oh well ... its been almost 8 months .. I will adapt eventually.
