Using the facebook developer kit I have created an app that allows one to comment on a thread and have it post directly to face book.
Nothing super fancy ... just functional.
Look at the bottom of this thread and you will see what it is I mean.
NO LONGER APPLIES .. THIS AP IS DISABLED.

Yeah ...
If facebook is lagging so will this app.
1. You must be logged into the forum.
2. You must have a face book account.
3. If you use IE you may not be able to use this app.
4. Stop using IE ... its a lame ass browser that does not support a lot of MODERN CSS variations. In other words, I designed the forum in FF and that is the way its optimized.
5. STFU.

I'm cornfused.
What good would it do for a comment to be simultaneously posted on facebook?
Is the thread transferred as well? Or does it just show up as a random post on your wall?
Not an avid facebook user so this may explain my lack of understanding.

Right ..
A few members here have face book accounts and they have a very large friend list and for SOME REASON they rarely post anything about this forum on their face book page .... I assume they are just ashamed of us or something.
Anyway... follow this example :
1. I post a thing here that I am proud of, I use the face book app to seed it to my facebook profile ( with a link back to the thread )
2. MY friends see it .. and maybe 1 or a few more comment on it via the actual facebook this now shows up on THEIR page as a comment and will be seen by all of THEIR friends and so on and so on.. etc etc.....
So bottom line : More people will see the stuff ... potentially more will join.

Uhhhh.... okay, I really am sorry. As usual, I'm still a little hazy on how this all works.
If I want a post from here to show up on my facebook homepage, I need to (basically) post it twice? In the quick reply box and the facebook comment box at the bottom of the thread?
What if I really like someone else's post... I could c/p it from within that thread and put quotes and a crediting tag at the bottom and stuffs?

.....
You COULD do it that way I guess ....or:
You make comments here just like you would on your wall.
Or just like you would if you were commenting on something that your friend wrote on facebook.
I put the app here so that people could comment in a thread and that comment and the LINK to this thread would be seen on facebook.
Surely ... this is not that complicated is it?

you forget you're talking to Josie. I'm technologically challenged something fierce. It all does seem quite simple, but I still have a fat ? stuck to my forehead. I'll play with it and will learn that way. It's all deletable anyhow :D
thanks, btw. app seems pretty nifty.
