Who cares if you lost at pool? The thing you lost, obviously, is your manhood (if you had it to begin with), because it's apparent that this thread wasn't your idea... it was hers.

Eunuch bitch.

What is this Yahoo pool you all speak of?

Do you use YIM at all? If you do, log in, start a conversation with someone and click on "Games" at the top of the screen. You'll see a bunch of options, including pool.

It's pretty fun, but I always lose. Now, literati? Muahaha, I always win.

Unless I play my father. Crotchety old fart can win anything given enough time.

Cool. I've used YIM but I've never really played around with it to see it's features.

I'll have to look further into this. Thanks.

What happened to the days when phones were JUST for calling people, and messengers were JUST for instant messaging?

I know, damnit. I don't mind all the new gadgets, but simpler times were sure different.

Indeed. However, I don't think all this super high tech stuff is going to last very long or go much further. All of a sudden, things will become so simple that people will just up and die for lack of ability to complete the simple tasks they need to to stay alive.

This makes me happy.

You need a manual to operate just about everything these days. Times are changing. But for the better or worse is the question.

My prediction is that the world will become so advanced that we will use technology to preform the simplest activities, like you said. However, I do not feel that laziness shall be the down fall of mankind. I predict the down fall of man kind will either be due to a major malfunction and

all electronic devises ceasing to function and human ignorance killing each and every one of us

OR

a barrage of bombs destroying the planet and killing each and every one of us

Either way, the world is far too dependant on electronics.

I disagree with you. I think technology will continue to complicate everything more and more until an impasse occurs -- either complete revolution occurs, changing technology to the point of it simplifying things instead of complicating them, or people will rebel against technology and voluntarily congregate with the Amish and remote African tribes.

Negative. Most of the things you buy now don't even come with manuals. They're "available for download/viewing from thisparticularmanual.com". And some people, like myself, tend to figure stuff out without using a manual most of the time.

Again, I disagree. However, I do think it's fucking stupid that we have enough nuclear weapons cached to destroy (and radiate for a long time) every planet in the solar system at this point.

The world is dependant on electricity and electronics because it's what is out there right now. We use to be dependant on coal. As technology increases, science must first. There will come a time when we can't update our technology because it's to hard for any human to do this. We are already at a point where many things take high levels of knowledge just to fix, build or improve them. Eventually the time will come to make a choice. let the computers do it themselfs, let the technonoly sit as is, or revolt. If computers program themselfs, there is a poosibility after a while it will either malefunction, or program itself and improve itself, so that it can do its job better. And a computer

I'll take your word for it. It's been that long since I've needed to buy any electronics that I don't remember getting/needing a manual for them.

Well, I didn't actually know that till now. Maybe they're saving them up for an alien invasion. Or one hell of a New Years celebration.

You should sell that on e-bay.
