HOW TO:

User cp -----> Edit your details -----> scroll down to "additional Information" -----> insert your link URL into the box labeled "username images"



Easy peasy lemon squeezy



Note:

A) Only Member, Senior Member, Founder, SMODS, Mini-Mods and Consultants can use this feature ... basically if you can NOT see the username image box in your details section you do not have the privileged yet.

B) Only use an actual linked pic .. DO NOT insert the [img] tags.


C) Image size is restricted to 220x x 60H


D) Your username will remain in your profile and the shoutbox.

Hint ... This is a useful feature if you wanna make your username all faggy and rainbow colored or in some homo calligraphy pattern.

Just create it .. save as a jpeg, gif, png, and upload your pic.

INFO :

If you are going to use this feature I ask you to PLEASE store your picture file in one of your user albums.

This reduces lag, and also prevents the linked source from fucking with the source file.

For example :

VectorTech ( no fault on him, just an example) linked his image directly from the place where he created the file. The source website either on purpose or due to error stopped the link from functioning, this left him with NO user name or USER Pic.

We that have the pics stored in our user album will never have that type of interruption.

I was asked what the point was, as we already have avatars we can use. Its readily apparent, however, now that we have gotten into the swing of things, that its more about tweaking the way our names show up.

Its one size fits all for now set at 220x60, admin set only, auto scales.

I don't have the skill set to make it selectable per user.

But I'm learning ....gimme a year or so.

If you are going to use this feature it is BEST to save the pic file, and have it stored in your user album, then link to that album pic.

That way it will always be available.
